England start Euro 2024 campaign with win over Serbia

England got off to a winning start to Euro 2024 with a 1-0 win over Serbia in Gelsenkirchen.

England's passing accuracy was a little higher 91 per cent to 89 per cent and they covered more ground than their opponents.

England are off to a winning start in their Euro 2024 campaign after defeating Serbia 1-0 in the Group. The Three Lions got the only goal of the game through Harry Kane in the 30th minute and they held on to their lead to secure the three points.

England started the game brightly and they created a number of chances in the opening stages. Kane had a great chance to open the scoring in the 10th minute but he fired wide from close range. However, the Tottenham striker made no mistake 20 minutes later when he headed home a cross from Kieran Trippier.

Serbia came into the game with a good record against England and they will be disappointed not to have taken anything from the match. They had a few chances to equalise in the second half but they were unable to find the back of the net.

England will now face Scotland in their next match on Friday while Serbia will take on the Czech Republic.
